MICROBIAL ECOLOGY OF TERRESTRIAL AND AQUATIC SYSTEMS LabORATORY

Welcome!

The Microbial Ecology of Aquatic and Terrestrial Systems Laboratory (METAS Lab) was established in early 2017 under the Microbiology and Cell Biology Academic Group, Institute of Biology (IB), University of the Philippines Diliman. Researches in the laboratory are geared towards the study of microorganisms as they relate to one another and to their environment. The primary investigators of METAS Lab are Marie Christine M. Obusan, Ph.D. (aquatic ecosystems) and Jessica F. Simbahan, Ph.D. (terrestrial ecosystems).

METAS Laboratories are located at Rm. 355 and Rm. 332, 3rd floor, IB.
Harnessing microbial interactions and genetic information to understand microbial community structure and function, discover natural products, and remediate the environment
